2023年、横浜武道館アリーナにて「第5回極真連合杯 世界空手道選手権大会」が開催されます。
今大会は約50ヶ国から、200人以上の精鋭選手が集い、極真会館創始者 大山倍達総裁が制定した直接打撃制（フルコンタクト）ルールによる組手で心技体を競い合い、極真理念である「人種・民族・国境を超え、政治・宗教・思想の垣根を撤廃し、世界人類の平和の実現を目指す。」にあるように今大会を通じ、日本と世界、または世界中が幸福と平和を目指すべき国際交流を旨としています。
In 2023, the 5th Kyokushin Union Cup World Karate Championship will be held at the Yokohama Budokan Arena.
More than 200 elite athletes from about 50 countries will gather for this tournament, which was enacted by Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Kaikan.
It is a competition of mind, technique and body in kumite based on the direct hitting system (full contact) rule, with the Kyokushin philosophy: “Aiming to achieve world peace by eliminating barriers between politics, religion, and thought, transcending race, ethnicity, and national borders.”
As stated above, through this tournament, we promote international exchanges aiming for happiness and peace for Japan and the world, or rather the whole world.
